MEMBERSHIP
WHAT STEPS DO I NEED TO TAKE TO BECOME A MEMBER OF FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH?
- Any person who professes faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and holds views of faith and practice in conformity with those of FBC may be received into our membership.
- The church requires baptism by immersion in order to become a member.
- Because we believe strongly that membership in a local church should not be taken lightly, you will be asked to attend a Discovery 101 class. The class is a pre-requisite to becoming a member.
- Following the Discovery 101 class, you will be asked to give your testimony of faith to an elder. The elder will then approve you as a new member.
New members will then be presented to the congregation by the reading of names of those who have completed the Discovery 101 class and have given their testimony. The congregation will then affirm you into membership. The date of this final affimation will be made known to you as soon as possible after finishing the Discovery class.
